Yesterday, our attorneys scored a major victory in a gender discrimination case. The plaintiff alleged that she was treated differently than her male co-workers and, after she made repeated complaints of discrimination, including taking legal action, she became subject to ongoing retaliation that ultimately led to her termination. The defendants filed a motion for summary judgment, arguing that there was not enough evidence to support plaintiff’s claims of discrimination and retaliation, and that they should be dismissed. Our firm opposed the motion, laying out for the court in detail the factual support for the plaintiff’s claims in a brief authored by Heidi Weintraub & Erica Domingo.
The trial court found our arguments persuasive and denied the motion, meaning the case is not dismissed, and the plaintiff’s claims against her employer will be heard by a jury at trial.
